Low Oil Crispy Sabudana Vada (without deep frying)|Sago Poppers| Quick & Easy 5 min Breakfast Recipe
Usually Sabudana Vada is deep fried but this is a quick snack recipe of sabudana vada or sago poppers which are made in appe patra which makes it low oil and healthier.
This is a very easy recipe which could be made for breakfast or as an evening snack.

Ingredients :

- Sabudana/ Sago ( https://amzn.to/2uVJmqC) (1 Cup)
- Mashed Potato (1/4 cup)
- Ground nut powder ( 3 Tbsp)
- Desiccated Coconut (https://amzn.to/2uT1aTl ) (2 Tbsp)
- Cumin powder (https://amzn.to/2JvpOPh)
- Salt
- Sugar ( 1 Tsp)
- Red chilli powder (1 Tsp) ( More if you like )
- Green Chillies (1/2 Tsp)
- Fresh coriander (2 Tbsp)
- Oil for greasing appe patra

Equipments Used :

- Appe Patra ( Non - Stick Cavity Appam Patra ) (https://amzn.to/2LGIxcr)

Procedure :

- Put 1 cup Sago in a larger bowl
- Add 1 cup water and soak it for 5 - 6 hours (overnight )
- In another bowl, add mashed potato (1/4 cup)
- Add groundnut powder, desiccated coconut, cumin powder, red chilli powder, green chillies, fresh coriander, salt to taste, sugar and soaked sabudana.
- Mix it very well
- Mix it with your hands and make a dough
- Now form lemon sized balls and keep it aside
- Heat appe patra on low flame and put some oil
- As mentioned it is a low oil , you just have to grease the appe patra so that it won't stick so I would say this is much better than deep frying.
- Put the sabudana balls and cover it
- Cover and cook for 2 min and then flip.
- Flip and cook from all sides
- Cook on medium flame so that it becomes crispy
- Serve it with dahi / yogurt and enjoy this comparatively healthy fast or upvas recipe.
