Macanese African Chicken - Macau's version of Piri Piri Chicken (非洲鸡)
African chicken is a dish that has a murky and fascinating backstory. It's a quintessential Macanese dish that may feel a bit more like Western/South Indian fusion than Chinese per se - it's basically a riff off Portugese Piri Piri chicken, but's smothered in a rich, heavily spiced nut/coconut sauce.

This dish *is* a bit more mild than Piri Piri Chicken though. So if you want it spicy, feel free to up the chili quantity!
