Chocolate Zebra Cake
A Zebra Cake sometimes known as Marble cake, to my knowledge originated in Germany although some say it’s also Russian. It’s known in Germany as Marmorkuchen. The technique is to create a marble effect or as in this case, a zebra effect by mixing two different coloured cake batters.

This recipe uses chocolate and vanilla which are the basic flavours and I believe still the best. It’s a perfect cake to enjoy with a tea or coffee, or even a glass of milk. It’s fun to make, takes a little bit of patience but doesn’t take long at all. The best part is the big reveal, as soon as you cut the first slice, there’s a new pattern to discover.
