THAI BEEF SALAD
Thai Beef Salad (Yum Neua Nam Tok) made with grilled steak, lime fish sauce dressing and simple herbs. It’s tangy, spicy and delicious. The fish sauce gives a nutty, salty, umami characteristic to the dish. Serve on top of lettuce or salad mix. Good as an appetizer or main course with rice. Feel free to customize the taste to your liking. You can also add lemon grass and roasted rice powder for more authentic taste.

Recipe serves 4

1 1/2 Lb lean steak of your choice
Season lightly with salt and garlic powder
1/2 Tbsp oil
8-10 Cherry tomatoes-halved
1/3 Cup red onion-thin sliced
1/2 of cucumber-quartered
1/2 Cup cilantro-chopped
1/2 Cup mints
3 Green onions-chopped
4 Cups lettuce or salad mix for serving

For dressing
3 Tbsp fish sauce
2-3 Tbsp fresh lime juice
1 Tbsp sugar
5-6 Chilies or to your taste-chopped

Note: You can grill or pan sear the steak approximately 4-6 minutes on each side or until it is cooked medium. Do not overcook the meat. We don’t want well done for this recipe.
