Lamb Casserole With Yoghurt - a traditional Albanian casserole. Tave Kosi Me Mish Qengji (Tave Elbasani). If you love lamb meat then this recipe is for you. This yoghurt and lamb casserole is ideal for any Sunday meal and i can guarantee it, your family will love. This lamb casserole is easy and full of flavour.

Ingredients:

500 g of lamb + the broth after boiling it
3 eggs
1lr yoghurt
3 tablespoon rice
3 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoon butter
Salt
Pepper


Preparation:

• Boil the lamb and save the juice to make the sauce.
• In a deep bowl, add 3 eggs and the amount of yoghurt and mix well.

• In a small pan add 6 tbsp of lamb broth and the rice and bring it to
boil ensuring that the rice is not fully cooked. The rice should be
half cooked.
• Add 1tbsp butter to a pan and the flour, cooking it together until the
flour gets coloured. Leave it to cool for about 5 minutes. Bring the
pan back to the heat and slowly add 400 gram of lamb broth, stirring
it constantly until it becomes thick.
• Place the cooked lamb meat in a baking tray, add the half-cooked
rice and the thickened sauce.
• Add the egg and yoghurt mixture.
• Spread 1 tbsp of melted butter on top.
• Put to bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees or until the
surface tuns into golden brown colour.
Serve immediately!
