Buat peminat K-drama pasti tahu hidangan Hotteok ni kan? Makanan manisan atau Street Food di Korea. Tapi kali ni Chef Saf nak kongsi cara membuat Hotteok yang kena dengan tekak melayu, iaitu Hotteok Apam Balik. Menarik tau, jom cuba!

HOTTEOK APAM BALIK

For the dough:
2 tsp yeast
¼ cup warm water
1 tsp + 1tbsp sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup glutinous rice flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1 tbsp ADELA Canola Oil
1 ++ cup milk

For the filling:
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup sweet corn kernels
¼ cup crush ground nuts
¼ cup coconut
Salt
ADELA Canola Oil for frying

Method:
1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, 1tsp sugar and yeast. Set aside to activate the yeast.
2. In a mixing bowl, add the rest of the dough ingredients and mix well. Add the yeast mixture and milk gradually to get a lumpy dough. Let it rest for 1 hour
3. After 1 hour, mix the web into a ball and let it rest for another half hour.
4. Prepare the filling by combining all the ingredients and heat up ADELA Canola Oil for frying. The hotteok will be shallow fried.
5. With oiled hands, grab a tennis size dough ball and flatten it in the palms, place 2 tsp of the filling and gather the edges to seal. Place seal side down into the hot oil and fry for 1 minute or lightly brown.
6. Flip the hotteok over and give it a firm equally distributed press to flatten the dough. Fry for 1 minute and flip again for another minute. Lift the hotteok and drain in cooling rack.
