Happy Holidays from Buck and CG
Happy Holidays! CG and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and we wish you all the best through the coming holiday season and into the new year! And If this video is too short for you, we've got a new podcast episode over on our travel channel https://youtu.be/doK62g81sE0

It's hard to believe that 2022 is right around the corner. It's seems like only yesterday that the world went to hell in a handbasket back in 2020. I thought 2021 was the year we'd get back on track and closer to some kinda normalcy, but maybe "normal" is just a story we tell ourselves, and really there is no normal, there's just today and the next day and all of the days after that--if we're lucky enough to have them.

I try to be appreciative of each day that I can roll out of bed and plant my feet on the floor and stand up, because there are more than a few folks who can't. Some folks don't even have a safe place to sleep. One of CG's favorite tales is the one where a group of people came together to trade troubles since each feels that everyone else is better off. The folks unload their troubles out before them onto a table, and then looking around at everyone else's troubles, quietly pull their own back into their pockets.

The holidays and the conclusion of another year are a natural point to take notice of all the good things in my life, and to be thankful for them. And I strive to be thankful for the crappy experiences, too, like a busted rib, a broken toilet that needs replacing, a dead car battery, or the loss of another friend who--like the car battery--gives up the ghost, as all of us will do.

So many days are the same in so many ways, and yet each year reveals so much change. My real needs are so simple, but I'll often make life more complicated than it needs to be. I'll argue about things that don't matter, or worry over something that doesn't even exist, or fret over an incident that's come and gone and only lives in my head where for some reason I refuse to let it go. But I CAN let a lot of those complications go, and this time of year reminds me of that easy truth, and for that I am most thankful.

I hope you enjoyed the holiday video. The video is 10 years old now, and I think I've uploaded it every year since CG and I made it. The video makes me happy; in fact all of the videos we've made over the years make me happy. The images kickstart my memory and remind me of all the times and places and how very fortunate CG and I have been over the years.

We wish you and your loves ones the very best for all the times to come, and we thank you all for the kind words and taking the time to watch our sometimes silly videos.

Happy Holidays,
CG and Buck
