For the vanilla cupcakes:

- 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 100 g (3.5 oz) of unsalted butter
- 200 g (7 oz) of granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 160 ml (5.4 oz) of whole milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

For the vanilla buttercream frosting:
- 300 g (10.5 oz) of unsalted butter
- 300 g (10.5 oz) of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Edible sugar pearls, for garnish (optional)

*Eggs, milk and butter should be at room temperature
