Discovering the Best of Indian Cuisine in South Goa!
I’ve got to admit that I love the chaotic and energetic city of Mumbai, which is also known as the city of dreams. However, a visit to a luxurious resort called St Regis in South Goa was a welcome change from the bustling streets and crowded slums. Nestled between the sea and river makes the location one of the best in Goa. The beautiful gardens, lagoon and peaceful atmosphere, made it hard to believe that we were still in India. That’s what I love about India, there’s something for everyone.

But I was there not only to relax, but for the real Indian Cuisine! To begin, we enjoyed a delicious dinner with charred chili prawns, spicy crab curry, and berry cheesecake, followed by a spectacular sabred champagne and then a stargazing experience where we had a traditional dinner inside a bubble! No, the bubble part is not traditional!

The next morning, we explored the beach where the river meets the Arabian Sea, watched the sunrise, fishing boats and witnessed the phenomenon of "barking sand." That’s what’s known as squeaky sand when you walk on it. We tried the local Indian breakfast called Mysore Masala Dosa and later had lunch with dishes such as Palak Paneer, and Fish Recheado. We watched our Executive Sous Chef Gorav Verma prepare an exquisite Butter Chicken dish and learned about the amazing process of making naan or flatbread in a traditional tandoori oven.

Overall, the experience at the resort was enchanting, and we certainly enjoyed the tranquillity, beauty and impeccable service of the place after the chaos of Mumbai. We savoured the delicious food and tried new dishes, all while enjoying the stunning scenery and amenities the resort had to offer. Now watch the next vlog for a new exciting food and travel adventure.
