Whole Wheat Bread
Ingredients
- 3 cup Wheat Flour
- 1 tsp Instant Dry Yeast
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 5 tbsp Cooking Oil
- Butter / Milk for Brushing on the Top of the Bread
Preparation Method :
- In a small bowl, add instant yeast and sugar, add lukewarm water, stir and keep a side for 5 minutes yeast to get activated
- In a large bowl, add wheat flour, salt as per taste, vegetable oil mix everything, add activated yeast, mix and gradually pour water to knead dough
- Dough shouldn’t be hard, let it be smooth and elastic, check the constituency i have shown in the video
- Add oil if required while kneading, in case if you feel dough is more sticky
- Place this dough in a oil greased bowl, then cover it with cling wrap or damp cloth
- Let it sit for 45 minutes - 2 hours ( some yeast gets activated fast wherein other yeast takes slightly more time to proof ) wait until it doubles in size
- Now take out proofed dough from bowl, place it on floured surface and knead again for 3 - 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic
- Now give desired shape for your dough and then place it in oil greased baking mould
- Let it proof again in the baking mould, when it proof again, Preheat convection bake @190 c
- Bake it for 20 minutes
- When 80% baking is done, remove it from the convection bake, grease milk or egg or butter on the top of the bread and put it back again in the convection bake to bake further
- It will take 25 - 30 minutes to bake , use tooth prick to check whether its baked completely or not, if not put it back again for 3 - 4 minutes
- Leave bread to cool down completely before cutting into Slices.
- You can keep outside for 2 days, if still remain keep in the refrigerator for another 2 more days, Try to finish it off within 4 days
Bread Baking Tips:
Use bottled water instead of tap water to make your breads. Water softeners and chlorinated public water can sometimes kill the yeast needed to make your bread dough rise.
How to Activate Yeast:
Dry yeast needs to be activated before use. To do this, mix together lukewarm water, sugar and yeast, stirring vigorously to ensure the yeast is fully dissolved. Cover, and set aside in a warm place for 5 to 10 minutes. Once froth forms on top, your yeast is activated and ready to use.
