How To Make Dalgona Coffee | Dalgona Coffee 3 WAYS | TikTok Coffee Whipped Foam
You knew that as a coffee fanatic I couldn’t possibly overlook the viral sensation currently sweeping social media…I simply HAD to try it, especially since it looked so very much like my beloved Greek Frappé.
Dalgona coffee is a whipped coffee drink also known as Korean Coffee or Beaten Coffee. The drink went viral on South Korean YouTube then became a TikTok challenge before appearing across many Instagram feeds. Dalgona is a Korean type of honeycomb candy (which the coffee foam sort of resembles) in case you were wondering!
How to make Dalgona Coffee. This insanely easy dalgona coffee recipe needs only three ingredients. These three ingredients are whipped until they become voluminous and creamy – you will be amazed how a liquid becomes a mousse the consistency of meringue (or shaving cream)!
The whipped coffee is then spooned over hot or cold milk – a sort of reverse latte.
Ingredients
Instant Coffee - 4 Tbsp
Sugar - 4 Tbsp
Hot Water - 4 Tbsp
Hot and Cold Milk
Milk Chocolate
White Chocolate
Grated White and Milk Chocolate
Instructions
I would advise you use four tablespoons of each ingredient as it is easier to whip them. I used an electric mixer but you can also use a coffee frother (much easier) or a balloon whisk if you are prepared to give your arm a bit of a workout!
Put the coffee granules and sugar in a small deep bowl. Add hot water and stir together to combine.
Start whisking on the lowest speed setting (otherwise the coffee will splatter everywhere).
Increase the speed gradually as the coffee foams up and whip on maximum once soft peaks form. Continue until the coffee forms firm peaks a bit like meringue.
Fill a small glass with your choice of hot or cold milk and spoon the coffee over it. Voila! Your Dalgona Coffee is (instagram) ready.
