Breadfruit Shallow Fry Recipe
Breadfruit shallow fry tastes best when the breadfruit is fresh.

Ingredients

- 500 grams Breadfruit
- 3 tsp Red Chilli Powder (if u like more spicy add 1 more tsp)
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1/4 tsp Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Gram Flour
- 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/4 cup Water
- Salt to taste


Preparation Method :

- Peel the breadfruit skin using peeler or by using knife
- Chop off the excess inner core portion of the breadfruit
- Cut into slices approximately into 1/2 inch thickness
- Shape and size (1/2 or 1 inch) is personal preference, thin slices will fry faster
- Soak slices in water otherwise it will become dark in colour
- Meanwhile in a bowl, add Gram flour, Red chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Cumin powder, Ginger garlic paste, Vinegar, Salt and make a smooth paste by adding adequate amount of water
- Drain out water and Pat dry slices before the marination
- Now evenly spread this mixture on breadfruit slices and keep a aside for 10-15 min
- Heat the pan over low heat
- Once oil is hot, place them one by one on the heated frying pan
- Shallow fry both the sides about 2-3 min each side on low heat
- Insert a knife or tooth prick inside one of the pieces to check if they are fried or not, if the knife or tooth prick passes through easily, the pieces are well fried
- Once fried remove them on the kitchen towel, it will absorb excess oil and if you leave it on the pan it will tend to get hard
- Serve hot breadfruit fry with Tomato ketchup
