How To Make 5 Minute Sugar Nuts
If you have leftover nuts from Christmas, turning them into sugar nuts, or candied nuts, is the best thing you can do with them! They're won't be any leftover after they're coated in crunchy cinnamon sugar!
Recipe -
1 egg white whisked with 1 tbs water until frothy
400g mixed nuts (pecans and walnuts are the best but all nuts work. If you use all unsalted nuts, add a pinch of salt to the sugar before mixing in)
150g granulated sugar
70g brown sugar (light, dark, muscovado - whatever you have)
1tsp - 1 tbs cinnamon depending on your preference
Add watered down egg white to nuts and mix.
Add sugars and cinnamon and stir until the nuts are coated.
Tip the sugary nuts onto a lined baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 150C for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through to make sure the nuts don't burn.
Once the 30 minutes are up, stir the nuts one more time to make sure they don't set in one big block then leave to cool completely so the sugar goes crunchy.
